AirDots Pro 2 Review

In the box we get a user manual in Chinese, a USB type-C cable for charging, the case and of course two earphones.

The charging case looks quite nice in matte white colour, and on the side is a button to activate pairing. Be aware of this button, because the earphones will not enter pairing mode without clicking it.

This is not a big case, but it will re-charge the earphones between 3 and 4 times, which gives us a total of 16-18 hours of music.

The earphones also look good, but compared to the Apples Airpods, they do have a much thicker stem. The earpiece has a glossy white colour, and the stem is matte white. They do look good, and the build quality also feels very nice.

They also have infrared sensors that detect when you take them out of the ears and automatically pauses the music or video. When you put them back in, it will automatically continue playing.

The battery isn’t amazing, but I did get 4 hours of music per charge, and charging them from empty to full takes about 1 hour.

From what I have understood, it is possible to customise the touch controls, but it requires an app, that sadly only has Chinese language, so I didn’t try it much…

The standard setup gives us the following functions;

  • Double tap the right earphone to pause or play.
  • Double tap the left earphone to open the assistant.
  • Skip forward or backwards is only available by installing the app

The sound quality is also quite good. It’s crisp and clear, with a nice overall balance. Mids and vocals are especially good, and the bass is ok, but they can’t match the bass we get from in-ear style earphones. The volume isn’t too loud though. It gets quite high, but I can play at max volume without feeling much discomfort. I probably wouldn’t go any higher anyway, but some people may want to, so that’s one thing to notice if you play very loud music.

When it comes to latency, it’s not very noticeable in youtube and apps like that, but in games it still too much. Especially in games like PUBG where there’s a lot of fast action.

Overall a very nicely made product, with beautiful sound, but not enough bass in my opinion, and the max volume might not be loud enough for some people.
It’s got good battery life of 4 hours, and the case gives about 12-14 hours, which isn’t the best, but I think it’s ok for such a small case.
