These earphones might look ordinary, but they have usb-c, wireless charging, rated IPX5 and the sound quality is impressive.

Tronsmart Spunky Pro Review
As usual, lets start by listing the content of the box. We get a USB type C charging cable, a warranty card, a user manual, two sets of extra rubber buds, a charging case and of course two earphones.
Let’s start with the case. It’s made of plastic, got a logo and has a nice pattern on top. On the front we have 4 lights that show the charge status, on the side is a mechanical button that is used to open the lid and on the back is the usb-c connector for charging.
You might notice that it looks bit different compared to most cases. It’s got a almost flat top. That’s because the lid is not opened the traditional way. This case has a button on the side, and pushing it will release the mechanical lock and the lid will pop up. We can now slide the lid around, to reveal the earphones.
The battery in the case has a capacity of 400 mAh, which will give us a maximum of 14.5 hours of extra charge.
There is another way to charge this case though, because it supports Qi-charging (wireless charging). Just place the case on top of a charging plate or a power bank (that’s got Qi-support), and it will start charging automatically. It takes about 4 hours to charge wirelessly, from empty to full. Charging with the usb takes about 1 hour.
The earphones have the same pattern on the front as the case has on the top. There is also a light that shows the connectivity status, but this isn’t really something we need to pay attention to, since there is also a voice that will inform about changes in connectivity.
The shape of the earphones are very well thought out, as they are not just a rounded box, as we often see in low priced earphones. They are shaped to fit snuggly into the ears, with the speaker a bit on the side. Lets call it a ergonomic design.
They are made of shiny plastic, so they don’t feel very expensive, but then again, their not expensive at all.
During my tests of the earphones battery, I was able to play music at 80% volume for about 3.5 to 4 hours before it was empty, so the battery is ok.
On the front of the earphone is a touch sensitive area for controlling calls, music and volume. We have the following possibilities to control music:
- Hold for 2 seconds on the right or left earphone to start the assistant.
- Tapping once on any of them will play or pause.
- Tapping twice on the right one will go to the next song.
- Topping three times on the right one will go to back or to the previous song
- Tapping twice on the left one will raise the volume.
- Tapping three times on the left on will lower the volume.
I didn’t experience many accidental touches, but there will always be some. The touch area is very responsive and precise, so I also didn’t experience having to do extra touches to get what I wanted.
The spunky Pro fits very well in the ear, and they are quite compact. As you can see in the pictures below, they don’t stick out at all. When I first received them I thought such compact earphones will probably have a flat sound, but that’s not the case at all! The sound is very nice, crisp and clear. Vocals are nice. Highs and mids are also good. They also pack a good punch when it comes to bass, and the lowest rumbles are nice. Quite impressive for such compact earphones!
The microphone sounds good enough in quite surroundings, but struggle a bit in noisy areas. It’s also got dual microphones, so there’s one on each earphone.
Regarding latency/delay it is quite good. There’s is of course a little bit, but not enough to bother me while watching YouTube, Netflix etc. It’s hardly noticeable.
My only complaint is that the case is a little bit on the thick side for putting them in a jeans pocket. But I guess that’s a sacrifice for we have to make for the mechanical lid and wireless charging.
This is a nice package for a good price, so I have no problem recommending these for anyone who wants to use them for music or movies.
