QCY T3 TWS Bluetooth 5.0 Earphones

QCY have made some very nice budget earphones, but how will the QCY T3 perform with the rubber funnels? Lets find out.
Review video is at the bottom of this page.

Review

In the box we got the charging case, two earphones, a micro USB charging cable and a user manual. Sadly there’s no USB type C.

The case is made of plastic and has a semi matt colour, which looks good.
In front we also have two charging lights, and the battery capacity of the case is 600 mAh, which gives us about 4 full extra charges.
The lid of the case is a bit transparent, and the earphones have lights that will glow while charging, so there’s no need to open the lid to see if they are fully charged.

The QCY T3 are IPX5 water resistant, so using them for sports and in a bit of rain shouldn’t be a problem.

They also look quite nice, with the stem going down on the side, and you may have noticed that they are not of the typical in-ear-type. They have rubber funnels, instead of the typical buds. This makes them a bit more comfortable to wear, as they don’t go very far into the ear canal. They do sit very well in the ears though, so they do not fall out, even if I shake the head pretty hard.

On the side of the earphones we have touch sensitive areas, so no physical buttons here. This are can be used to control music and calls.

We can slide up or down on this area to raise or lower the volume.
To play or pause just double tap (works on both of them).
Hold for two seconds on the right one to skip to the next song. This is a little bit annoying since we have to wait about two seconds, but it works.
And we can do the same on the left one to go back, or to the previous song.
We can also start google assistant or siri, by triple tapping.
Touch controls work well, but I have had a few accidental touches, and a few missed touches. Overall they work ok.

Regarding battery life, one charge usually gets me up to about 5 hours of usage, so it’s quite good. The microphone is also quite good, so using them for calls is not a problem.

Conclusion

Although the T3 sit very comfortably in the ear, and the sound clarity is VERY good, I feel that they don’t close out the surroundings well enough. The result is that there’s not enough pressure in the ear to create the deep and powerful bass that many of us love. The sound is very crisp and clear, but there’s just not enough bass in my opinion. It’s not bad, but even the QS1/QS2 have more and deeper bass. If I push the earphones harder into the ears i get a lot more bass, so it is capable of giving a deep and rich experience, but it will not last long. For me this is a bit of a disappointment, as I had very high hopes for the T3. It’s build quality is very good and they feel solid built. If you want the deeper bass you’ll have to replace the rubber funnels with rubber buds. But with round buds they will not fit in the charging case…
Overall they’re quite good, and the battery is very good, but the funnels reduce the bass too much in my opinion.
